Hello everyone!

I've been reading through the posts and I'm looking to see if anyone has had any luck through the Mexico office. Nerves are definitely getting the best of me at the moment lol.

My husband is from Trinidad and I am from Canada. My application required me to send in the police check at the beginning but wait for the request for the medical to be done.

My timeline is as follows:
Outland sponsorship submitted: July 25 2018
Acknowledgment of receipt: November 15 2018
Approval of sponsorship: November 21 2018
Transfer to Mexico for processing: January 17 2019

Nothing since then...

We sent our app March 22, our app was sent to Mexico August 8th, in October they asked for a new criminal background check (we sent it in March with our app but they asked for a new one) and we haven't heard anything since.

Online it still says background check hasn't started. I am in a Facebook group and there are a few people with the same kinda time line. August got sent to Mexico and still waiting:(

Extremely annoying. My background check will be (or has already) expired by the time I hear something.

Are you outland application from Canada as well?

My husband is from Honduras and I am sponsoring him. We submitted his application on March 22nd 2018. On July 24th it was sent to Mexico for further processing. One Oct 17 they requested the criminal background check even though we sent it with our original application so we had to go get a new one for them. We sent it by UPS and haven't heard anything since.
Did you hear anything yet?

It's so depressing when other visa offices knock out the applications in 3-6 months but we get stuck with Mexico.

I am the sponsor and I live in Canada. My husband is the applicant and lives in Honduras

I received pre arrival January 16 and my lawyer emailed Friday to inquire about our status.....yesterday they sent back that we are in queue for interview.......we are very confused to what is happening. Why send pre arrival if we need interview. Our year is February 2.....so it’s kinda late in the process. Two other cases had interviews in Dominican yesterday and both received visas. Their dates are after mine. If we needed interview.... why were we not doing it yesterday like them. I’m so frustrated!!!!!!

Maybe they found something with the police check?

Do you think? Is that normal?

I hear you. A friend of mine went through the sponsorship process as well and heard back in 8 months. I'm trying super hard to be patient but my status hasn't even changed from received since July 25 regarding permanent residence.

They start processing in Mexico on August 28
Ask for my police certificate on october 29

Nothing since then

I am very nervous because my application was sent to Mexico visa office for further processing and I am living in Guyana so the closest visa office to me is the one in Trinidad.
So I am very frightened if everything is okay with the application.
I also live in GUYANA , and am in a similar situation. Any update from Mexico VO ?

Did you order your notes? Because my understanding is that once you pass eligibility it usually means no interview. Bob1321 may be right, its possible that they have found something in the background check. Only way to know is to order your notes. My husband is also in the DR and we are 5 months into this process.
