MEXICANS AND MEDICALS

Hi seniors,i just want to know if mexicans needs to through the medical exams for student permits.
Also as a teacher trainee, can i take up a course in DISABILITY STUDIES, as i want a career change.
I am asking this because, ive read about people been denied visas,simply because their propose course of
study has nothing to do with thier previous studies.

Even obama would have to go through medical, if he wants to get study visa ;D . Medical is mandatory for everyone irrespective of their nationality.

About changing your field, there is two things u can do :
1. Apply visa for disability studies and add strong statement of purpose which should include why u r changing your field and your reasons should be very cogent.
2. If i were you, at first, I would apply course for a course which directly matches with my previous study. Then after reaching canada, I would change my course to disability studies(keep the offer letter of it ). we can easily do it and we don't even have to inform embassy about it.

Now choice is yours.

Note: This is my personal opinion, wrong or right that's only GOD knows. :-X

I am not sure why people talk about match with previous study...
I see that many students dont care about their previous study. Take, for example, my friend applied to SAIT and mechanical engineering as a diploma Althoguh she already have a bachelor degree with medical laboratry study. Then there was no problem. Another friend. He studied political science for bachelor degree, but he applied power engineering(diplmoa) to NAIT. His study permit is approved. There was no problem, too.

I must say that your friends were damn lucky to get visa with that much discrepancy between studies. But majority of the refusal cases are due to course mismatch. Look around this forum, you will find too many of them.
