Any seafarers ( merchant navy - deck side ) applying for Canadian PR. If yes, how was the entire process? Just want to get an idea of how easy/difficult it was to apply.. Since I have a diploma (which is equivalent to a one year degree as assessed by WES), my points aren't really high, but I have 10+ years of experience and I meet the IELTS requirements. My wife holds a masters degree and has some foreign work experience. How good are my chances to be selected to apply for the Canadian PR?

It depends how many points you have. Have you calculated them yet? If so, how much did you get?

Not enough information for us to help you. Where in the 300's? Best if you provide the exact score.

You need 450 and up..That's the current threshold right now.

Hi!
I am in the process of applying for family PR. Our minimum points would be 430. I am facing one difficulty and that is how to obtain points on the basis of my spouse? He has been sailing as a Master Mariner ( Ship’s Captain) with 48 months of sea time in the rank. He has no other degree apart from his Master’s COC and CDC ( both from India). Kindly advice how to claim points basis this.
