Merchant Navy - Master of Marine certificate equivalency ECA

Hi,

Kindly help me. Which agency evaluates the Master of Marine certificate (Merchant Navy). Does WES does this or some other agency like IQAS, ICAS etc. The Master of Marine certificate is given after a few years in job and after successful completion of on the job training & after passing certain exams in Merchant Navy.

This is called a certificate of competency, In Rank experience as: Master Mariner. This certificate is given by Director General of Shipping in India.

Kindly suggest.

FYI - since it's a certificate of competency, you should expect to get any points towards your EE profile.

Sorry about that - you should NOT expect to get points. It's not a diploma or degree. So no points.

Hi. Thank you for your reply. I have one more question. Consider that we dont expect points for this, we still need to get WES evaluation done for 12th standard, i.e. secondary education ?

Also we are applying jointly where I have masters degree, does he need to get this WES thing done as well ?

Hi, As far as I know, WES only assess post secondary education. If you are a primary applicant then you don't need to get the assessment done for your spouse' education. It is only done to gain points. For secondary education you get 2 points in CRS. You can gain points for his language score i.e. IELTS or TEF.
