Do I have to mention in the SOP that I was rejected for US study permit visa thrice?? And do I have to explain the reason behind rejection??

Hi,

No, you don't have to mention it on your SOP. Though the VISA application form would solicit that information and the ideal thing would be to mention it there. The high commission across the globe have access to the information like this and would be able to verify it if you don't mention it.

Can you please specify in which form I have to mention it??
Is it the Study Permit form IMM 1294 > Background information > 2c. > "Have you ever been refused admission or been ordered to leave Canada or any other country"??

Do I have to explain my US visa rejections in that answer block??

That question asks if you've been refused admission at a port of entry, not if you've been refused a visa. You don't have to mention previous visa rejections anywhere.

First if you got refusal stamp in your passport then please do mention it in additional info .
But if you don't had any visible refusal stamp on your passport then avoid telling proactively unless they specifically ask about visa refusal .

Agree with AlexMahone :)

Either you mention all previous application history or get refusal on ground of misrepresentation of facts.

Are you sure if I used the words "Refusal History"?

have been refused entry or been ordered to leave Canada or any other country !!! The point we were discussin in this thread was if we have to mention that US Visa was Rejected !! Answer is NO as they have not asked about this !! entry means at the port and not visa refusal !!! This is in the Context of this particualr thread !!!!

Refusal of Entry = Ordered to turn back at port of entry with a stamp stating so aka inadmissibility

Visa rejection has nothing to do with it. Visa refusal doesn't or never means that you are inadmissible. It just means that they cannot accomodate your present application ( If it is the case of inadmissibility, no one will get a visa once they are rejected)

Hi sahilk, did you finally say yes or no to the question? I saw you finally got the visa but i don't know your answer.
I actually got into the same situtation and I say NO.
Now i am very worrying about my case as it take so long for the results.
Hope you can give some information

No it doesn't read the IMM 1294 it says "have you ever been refused any kind of visa, admission, or been ordered to leave Canada or any other country"

Actually the IMM 1294 has been changed recently since august2012 with the same content as PMM says.
However before that it says have you ever been refused admission,or oredered to leave canada or other country. There is no refused visa mentioned in the old version of form IMM 1294

so fresh applicants will have to mention from which countries their visas were denied according to a latest change in wording.???
