I am going for MEng this fall to Queen's (civil engineering). Can someone throw some light on how student actually differ there MEng courses to MASc. Yes, I know I must go there..talk to my professors..find a potential supervisor..etc..etc... Just wanted some hints and tips if possible.. I am going for MEng to Queen's..and they are not providing a specialization in Structures (Civil Eng)..I asked them and they replied that they only provide specialisation to MASc students and to MENg students they would provide only generalized masters degree in Civil engineering. I was not much much interested in what degree they would give me either. But they recently mentioned that it may be possible that I do not get to study subjects related to structural engineering only(subjects of my choice)...I may have to mix them with subjects, not of my choice I am actually now thinking of accepting Western university's offer(they offered me structures)... please guide me someone what to do... I still have the offer from Western..I do not want to make others wait for the delay I am causing in accepting or rejecting western's acceptance........ ??? ???
I would not mind transferring to another university (if that option is provided at a later stage), if I get to study structures (I want to badly)....
Did not apply for MASc/MS as I did not have any research papers or even much idea about "RESEARCH" itself to be honest..but I hope to learn quickly about the methodologies and if I find something good to work on( I think I already have : :)..I would surely like to move to MS/MAsc from MEng.. I do not want to move to MS solely for getting grants.etc.. (plenty people do).. I actually want to complete MEng. as quickly as I can and work(industry)..but unfortunately I am not getting the subjects I want to study..... Only way to do that is go for MASc/MS.. this is making my life miserable..please someone guide/help me...WHAT IS THE WAY OUT OF THIS?????????
