Hey all,

I am just a few steps away in completing my visa process. Hopefully will be done soon. I applied as an International Student in M.A in Memorial University in Newfoundland and got my application accepted and all.

Now my next step is to apply for the visa which is a long and tiring process. I will be doing it online. I called my local VFS office and told them I wanna take my husband and daughter with me and they said to apply for TRV for them. I know that TRV is valid for 6 months only but the VO told me that since I will be the main applicant there visa will be valid the same duration of my studies which is about a year and a half.

Now, I have a question, I don't want to come back once I am in there.

What are the steps of staying there for good? ;D

Hoping for the best!

Taking both your husband and son with you? Your chances of refusal increases when your family accompanies you... as your "purpose of visit" might be doubted. Get your study visa first get the permit and then your family can apply for TRV.... just to be on the safe side. It's my own opinion..... anyways there'll be new system for PR called express entry.... similar to Australian system..... can't say anything definitive at the moment.

So you mean I get the permit, go to Canada and then apply for them?

Or you mean I get the study permit, and then apply for them while I am still in Kuwait?

I didn't get what you mean. ???

I just want to add that we have been living in Kuwait since forever. 30+ years. my whole family lives here and they are all well settled. Shouldn't this be counted as a proof to come back?

my husband lived here for 7 years and then left Kuwait to our home country and then returned after a gap of 6 years. he came back in 2011.

So whats your input? I am kinda hesitant now. what should I do?

I meant when you get the study permit from Canada, then apply for their TRV. That's a good thing that your family lives in Kuwait. But since you are an adult, they might want to see something like property (land, house etc) in your name... or your or your family's business ( if there is any ) Assuming you're 30+ they would want to see how you've established yourself in your own country..... something which will bring back you back to Kuwait.
And if you take your husband as well as kid with you then they might think there is something suspicious. It's a good thing that your husband has travelled in the past... good travel history is a +
All I'm saying is, think before you make up your mind. Don't give VO the impression that studying there isn't your priority, PR is. Good luck though... use this forum for better understanding :)
