Hi everyone:

does anybody know if my son, he is Canadian, is eligible for medicare in Quebec? both of his parents are temporary residents.

Thank you

Yes - he's eligible.

Google "RAMQ eligibility" (RAMQ is Quebec's health care system).

I have just called the RAMQ people and they told me he is not eligible. He would be eligible if any of his parents has a work permit with the name of the employer but not an open permit (which my husband has). unfortunately.....

If he's a Canadian citizen like you indicated in first post, then he is eligible as long as he is a resident of Quebec.

Unfortunately no. he is born Canadian but this is not enough according to them. One of the parents must have a medicare for the son to get it, otherwise, the child just can not has it alone.
