Hi, I am just wondering with the Spouse sponsorship, when it come to the medical can we just get one done or does it have to be arranged through the immigration process. When my Father arranged our application, i think he was part way through submission and he was told where we could go in our local area for our medicals. Alternatively as we will be going to Canada to submit the application, could we have it done over there ?

You can do the medicals wherever you want as long as it is a listed panel doctor from CIC. You get a form from the doctor which you have to add to your application as a prove that you had your medicals done. You have to do it before you send your application

hello there, my husband is a permanent resident in Canada and I am here in the Philippines. We send our application for spousal sponsorship without proof of medical examination. We thought medical examination will be necessary after we submit our application. Sadly, i read that the same is mandatory and should be incorporated to the whole application. Is it true that if an application was mailed without proof of medical examination, the whole package will be returned? if yes, how long would they mail the application so that we could return it back to them and include proof of upfront medical? has anyone experience the same?
My warmest and sincerest thanks.

It wont be returned but they will request that it is done and give you a deadline to get it done by. I sent our application without the medicals on purpose anticipating a long process was planing on doing it once the papers have reached Bogota, Columbia.
I was giving about 2 months to get the medical forms in which we did asap and sent it away.

Ryun thank you so much for the response , i really appreciate it .If it is not too much too ask, may i raise another question, You said that you were given two months to submit the proof of upfront medical which you immediately submitted, Upon receipt of the application how soon will they inform you so that you can comply with the lacking medical ?After you send your medical how long have you waited for the submission of passport. Again thank very much ryun.
Blessings.

Howdy ellaine, a quick look at the following spread sheet (thanks to forum member scos) will show you a lot of average time line periods and give a good snap snot over view of what has been happening with the Manila VO

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AtCLbbZupkY_dHJRT2R1alhXS2xaUzFTcHZsTUhVbHc#gid=0

I might also suggest trying the English thread for Manila applicants here, http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/manila-tread-for-english-speakers-join-here-t123646.0.html

Hopefully the spread sheet will give you some insights into how the Manila office has been moving things along.
