I had a reply saying "Please be advised that we hope to be in a position to request your passport etc. for visa issuance, in December 2010 or early January 2011."

So does that mean they WILL send PPR in Dec/Jan? Or does it just mean that I shouldn't expect PPR before Dec?

I hate these vague replies from CIC, I've already basically had my life on hold for a year because I planned on this taking 9 to 12 months (as they first told me). 19 months later I'm still waiting! Can't hang on much longer for many reasons, but I'm trying not to resort to travelling to Canada on a visitor's visa and going without work until my PPR.
I would think it means they will start sending PPR in late Dec or early Jan and issuing VISA in Jan 2011 not faster.

I know this may sound negative, but I can see this backlog growing till the timelines are similar to the old system.

Basically there are too many people applying to live in Canada and not enough visas to issue.

From all indications, it appears CHC London is sending two types of replies which are thus:

(1) Dear Sir,

Thank you for your message. We appreciate that you wish to arrive in Canada as soon as possible, however at this moment we do not anticipate requesting your passports for visa issuance before December 2010/January 2011

IMS
Programme Assistant
Immigration Section

(2) "Please be advised that the file is currently with an officer for review. We will contact you as soon as it is completed.

The High Commission"

Does these replies connote different things or can we assume it depends on who is replying the email.

I could not sleep last night, please do not let me wait and please help me with this matter, does anyone have the same situation or knowing whether is this sounds good or bad and if it is good do I need to wait so long to get the PPR??

Thanks for all of you

Fwakeel, you gonna have to take it easy, it's definitely not a bad thing. Your file is being looked at which is a good news. I personally think that it means you might be another lucky one to get PPR in Dec or Jan 2011. So sit back and relax buddy.

Dear ahmadtajwer,

Really thank you I felt much relieve, I hope the same for you.

I am grateful for your words and reply :)

I think alot of people have gotten to the stage where they get replys to wait until Dec/Jan 2011 for PPR. If this is so,the quota might soon be easily used up again. I think London CHC should be i given the highest quota as they process most applications.
