Got a call from our consulatants requesting more medical information for my son. Ahhhhhhh
No hard to do just a pain in the ass. On the plus side our medicals were sent to London CIC on May 14th and the letter was dated May 25th so it looks like things are moving quite quickly in London. Should have the extra stuff ready by next Monday.

could u sharte with us---why it took so long to receive PPR? did u have any foreign travel history or any issues that might have delayed the PPR? please share so that we can at least assume what might happen to our PPR.

I HAVE RECEIVED PASSPORT REQUEST YESTERDAY BY MAIL.

IT SAYS THAT THE SIR AND GIVEN NAMES MUST BE PRINTED ON LINES OF SIR AND GIVEN NAMES SEPERATELY. MY DAUGHTER HAS A MANUAL PASSPORT. ALTHOUGH THE SIR AND GIVEN NAMES ARE HANDWRITTEN ON SEPARATE LINES IT DOES NOT HAVE A TITLE OF SIR AND GIVEN NAME. IS IT A PROBLEM?

IT DOES NOT SAY THAT THE PASSPORT MUST BE MACHINE READIBLE.

Just out of curiousity i am putting this note for ur observation and remarks.

If i am not mistaken u r currently in UK working in Accounts. I have a friend called Mohan who had a steady job with Indian Railways where he has worked for 15 yrs. In 2008 he left on a medical leave to uk and did a 1 yr MBA in Finance frm Lincoln University. Currently he is there on post study work visa. He is totally disgusted as he cannot find a good job . He is now working in a convenience stores there.
My question is " Is it really tough to get a job in UK".

yes, i am working in accounts

-with reference to ur friend's situation, here are my remarks:

1. for me UK is one of the best places to live & work in the world. even though i only lived in Bangladesh & in UK, i didn't regret coming here for a single moment.

2. however, it is a difficult task to find a permanent job in ur (i mean everyone) field if u r not a British Citizen or a permanent resident in UK, the employers are quite reluctant to issue u with a full time work permit. if u ask me why they r reluctant to issue a foreigner with a wotk permit, i have no answer. may be they feel more comfortable to see someone who can stay here indefinitely/ permanently before applying for a job rather than seeing someonme who wanna stay here indefinitely/ permanently. i think the same dilemma is in Canada. to add insult to injury, recently the governement has announce that any employer who wish to hire any foreign workers/ students for full time job, has to register their business/ company with the Home Office (the ministry that delas with immigration, assylum, etc.). so, many SMEs r now even more reluctant to do so.

3. however, the most astonishing thing is that, still people are managing to find job here with the above obstacles. Me, myself, did look for job continuously for 7 months after completing my ACCA.

4. u will have to stay focus, patient, determined & stubborn in ur goal to find a job & be convincing to the employers as to why they should recruit u now instead of waiting for someone with permanent/ citizen visa. (even though i lost all of these after applying for Canada & since dealing with london CHC)

i don't know if i answered ur query but please do let me know if u need any more info on this issue.
