Standard is ONE YEAR FROM THE DATE OF MEDICAL EXAMINATION. Same in my case. It is a one time visa that will be cancelled at the airport upon first trip to canada and as against will have to apply for PRC to acquire immigrant status, before exit from Canada

Mr. Yousuf, can you please let me know the name of ur consultant in canada, for i think they are good in progresing the case of clients.

OICS (Optus immigration consultants - Brampton). I had good experience with them and fee was nominal as compared to UAE consulants i.e. CAD 1500. Contact email is;

Hello,
I am in same situation. London applicant since Sept 2007 (living in London), my case got transferred to Ottawa and I did my medicals in July. I was asked to send them to the London office and they have had them since 30 July 2010.

They never mentioned anything about landing fees or any other type of immigration fee. I just paid for my medicals and sent what they asked.

I wonder how long it takes to get the passport request. Any ideas?

Is everyone updating their case on www.trackitt.com ????? there are many people that I can't find on trackitt and it is an amazingly helpful tool for all of us to follow a pattern and see any moves in a very easy way.

Can anyone clarify - Once we get the visa processed and stamped in the passport, is it must for all the family members to go together for the first time to Canada to apply for the PR or can only the Principal Applicant go initially ?

Quick answer is No You don't all have to land together at first BUT irrespective of how you land , the primary applicant needs to either land first by his/herself or be in the first group landing.

Please do note that if your family plans to land separately that everyone lands in Canada before the visa on the passport expires.
