Medicals done in Jan 2009

Hello all:
Can anybody advice me on the time frame. Both me and my wife are here in Canada on work permit. We did our medicals in Jan 2009 and since haven't heard anything from CIC. e-CAS says "We have requested background information from other government offices(s). Unfortunately, we cannot provide a date when the processing of your application will be complete."

My question is what does this message mean: Have they received medicals and they are doing BCs or is it just a generic message.
I applied in Oct. 2007.

E-case is not always accurate or up to date. I just completed medicals, the doctor told me that they have 3 to 6 months back log in processing medical which will change after September because they hired 90 new medical experts. How does the DMP knows all this? Because he said that some CIC big shot (Mr. Rose) is his patient who is based in US. Its hard to buy, but I believed him.

So to answer your question, it may not be background check, its the medical which is delaying all this in Ottawa and your e-case is still showing BC's and it may be outdated information.

Perhaps the system shud be made a bit more transparent. My lawyer also asked me to hold on for some time. As it is there is not much any one can do,

after I'm done with my medical on Sept 2008, I received my PPR only last week. I waited for 6 months and it's all worth it.
