There is nothing to get scared for this problem. Consult a peadiatric surgeon and get his opinion. If it is Umbilical Hernia a corrective surgery may not be required as your child is below 6 months. Usually this type of hernia will disappear before one year. As you have medical request, consult the peadiatrician and afterwards, go for the medical.

thnks for ur advise. My kid has Inguial hernia and peadiatrician says it could be corrected with surgery. Right now it is reducable so it can be done any time.and I want to delay it till atleast six seven months so that there is good weight increase in baby. Need your opinion can it be hurdle in getting medical clearance or I should opt for surgery now.

Yes inguinal hernia may not subside and as your doctor advised and a correctve surgery may needed later. I don't think it will disqualify you and family. You don't have to mention all the stories to the DMP. In case he detect himself he will perhaps advise you to get a surgery done and come back to him for further medical. That is all. So, I suggest you can go for the medical. Be brave and don't get upset.
