Medical without Immigrant ID number

I went for my medical today. Unfortunately I didn't double check what I had to bring with me and was there without any forms or other requirements. We went ahead and did the physical and after the doctor told me to bring in the required papers when I go in again for blood tests and the x-ray.

However, he was under the impression that I should already have an Immigration Client ID number. I've checked with The Immigrant's Guide (page 6) and it says to include the ID number if known. I don't know one because I don't have one yet, correct? So there should be no need for one.

I would greatly appreciate any input or advice on this. I really want this all taken care of before I head over to Canada in mid July.

My partner completed his medical without having this information either. We didn't think anything of it and weren't asked at the time. I can't speak to anyone elses experience, but in our case, the medical documentation that the doctor filled out was in duplicate- he kept one copy and gave one to us, which is what we sent with our complete application pack to Mississauga. The medical report, the x-rays, blood test, urinalysis etc, he was sending directly to the consultate in London, UK. My application to sponsor has been approved in Mississauga and its now a case that the application for permanent residency is being sent to London, where it will be reunited with the medical stuff the doctor sent. There's a unique number on the duplicate paperwork he filled out, so hopefully all will go well and nothing has gone astray!

That process is what I thought happens. I think it may be different for people who are applying under the skilled-worker category so perhaps he got mixed up. Will have this sorted by the end of the week. A little relieved as I thought I had missed something major.

Hi,

I just checked the status of my partner's permanent residency application and processing began in London on the 20th of May. There's no indication as yet that anything is amiss with the documentation, so fingers crossed!

You're right, it's different for skilled workers and other visas. Family class is the only immigration type that does the medical exam before applying. For others, they apply first, visa office starts processing and then they (the visa office) send the applicant some forms and the applicant goes for the medical with those forms - the client ID is on them.
You did everything just fine. Though normally, you're supposed to bring Appendix C with you, but that's more informative for the DMP I think.
