Hai friends,

I am an Indian citizen currently on work permit in Canada. My wife is a canadian and she is sponsoring me (outland application). I have a doubt about the medical examination. I heard that for the outland application we have to do the medical upfront. I called some of the physicians here and they don't have an appointment this month.

So I am wondering can I send in the application without medicals and do the medicals later? I am going to India in september, so if that is possible I can do the medicals in India and can save some bucks also, because I think its expensive doing medicals here in Canada. Is it possible?

Thanks in advance.

Outland applicants are strongly advised to include the medical with the application.

Inland applicants can usually provide the medical later, since stage 1 takes so much longer than Outland.

You can have the exam anywhere as long as you use a CIC approved panel physician (list is on their website). Try to find one that uses the eMedical system to transmit the results electronically to CIC.

Good luck!

Excellent. Thank you ponga.

I have one more doubt. Do I need to submit my birth certificate along with the application, because I am from a place where there is no birth certificate. We usually use 10th grade certificate for every purpose.

If I have to submit it, is it the original or notarized copy?
