Hi, this was not wise, but when filling in the application forms for family class sponsorship, I replied "submitting medical upfront" to the question about "medical examination". However, it took me longer than expected to complete all documents required, and by the time I send the application (20200728), the medical upfront (completed on July 25th 2019, expiring on 20200725) has expired for three days.
How would that affect my application? How can I update the application and correct that information? Thank you.

Don’t panic about it, if IRCC would require a new medical. They will ask you for it but I have seen many members in this forum got their medical extended automatically due to COVID
It won’t affect your application at all

Good luck

Hi thanks for the information. But I got an ominous feeling since i still haven't heard back from my application yet (no biometrics request, no AOR, cannot link or find application by UCI). Considering others applying around the same time (July 29th) have already heard back mostly by Sep 11th, I think it might have been returned. awww this sucks I hope I find out why.

OP's medical was already invalid at the time the application was submitted. Highly unlikely a medical will be extended in this case.

Could that be the reason if it's returned? If so, how should I complement this? Should I pay for the medical service and re-submit it? thank you.

I would personally hold out a bit longer. AORs are taking a while to come out.
