Hi,

In Toronto, i inquired couple of Hospitals for Immigration Medical Tests, seems they do not cover by Insurance / health card and we need to pay around $200(in cash) for each member (Age 5 - 50).

In case of 4 member family it would be $800, which is way expensive.

Is it the same cost in any approved local hospital or any recommendations for better hospital ? please advice.

Well it's £360 in the UK for one adult ($590) so $200 each sounds like a bargain!

the best bet is to call all the CiC panel physicians and find out who is offering medicals for less cost .

Sounds good...Thank you for quick responses.

I never thought its this much expensive ::)
Considering the fees for the applicant and spouse are about $1000 each just to submit, the medical is the cheap bit.

CIC won't know it as physicians are free to charge whatever amount they want, I called 3 different offices in my state, one is asking for 790 USD, another one is asking 490 USD, the other one is $890. I think these physicians know we got no choice and would pay for it anyway...
I had to pay almost 3,000 USD for a family with 3 kids.
So 200 CAD is a bargain!!

There is an immigration medical examiner in Kitchener Waterloo , Ontario http://www.imemed.ca/IMEmed/Immigration_Medical_Examiners.html
Me and my partner had our medical exam there last week. $120 for doc's appointment , $15 for blood test and $40 for chest x-ray . $175 per person. The service was really good.
They charge $140 for doc's appointment if it is a single applicant case.

Local hospital wont do it, you have to pay to a private physician to do it.
Cheapest in Toronto is what you know. Do it.

In US, if physician agrees, can this be claimed under insurance though annual physicals? Anything not part of the 'prevention' tests like HIV, Hep B alone could be charged! Has anyone tried doing it? ;)
