Hey Folks,

Anybody planning to go for stamping in person like me.. can I do landing in the same trip??? not becoming greedy :) but in case that is possible.

Cheers,

I'm not too sure but NY office probably doesn't allow in-person stamping. Verify this first before you plan your trip. But once you get the visa and CoPR; you can land anytime.

Congrats to you! And there you were last year worrying so much about the time it took for your application to be processed... Enjoy your new found life in B.C. It's definitely worth all this wait.
By the way, are you planning to land at a CIC office or at the border?

I know but the old roommate was a bitch by not passing on my mail which included the medical request back in June... I was planning on going to the border but can you do it at a visa office in Vancouver??? save some money!!!!!!! Already looking at getting a better job cant wait woohooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@sinpguy.. u got your visa already.. i havent't got mine still.. :(

No.. But I heard office in victoria dont even need appointment.. they just have to walk in.. Hopefully same in Saskatoon...
also i heard we can land in the nearest international airport.. is tha ttrue???

Carpool for border landing is a great idea if you can't request walk in service at local offices. Connect with people here and make a road trip together, that would be fun, like a winter picnic trip lol!

Sinpguy, don't put your bet on CIC call center. all cic local offices can easily accommodate walk-in landing on a case by case basis. If you explain to them your wife is coming in 2 weeks and you must do landing before her arrival, but you are not a good driver in the winter time to the border, then hopefully (and very likely I can see) that they like your story and let you land tomorrow. All depends on your attitude and sincerity that they will make things easy for you.

Also you cannot walk in to CIC offices at the airport because these are strictly for international travellers seeking entry to Canada. They will not let you cross the security door as this is one-way door. Some smaller airports that do not have many international flights arrival do not have immigration officers on site 24 hrs so you must check flight arrival schedule and thats too much headache to try this route my friend.

be there the first minute their office opens. normally cic local offices are very busy; people go there for landing, to pick up PR cards, for marriage interview they are very overloaded so if you want them to consider your case, be there early when they are not too busy with their schedule.

what are you worrying about? Unless VO require you go under medical exam, you don't need to do it for sure.
