From another thread (transferred to Seattle )....it can be an individual guess....Since Seattle office does not response I feel it can be a reason too...
 
Weird thing guys! Buffalo told me they mailed it back on Dec 2, but I do not see it on Canada Post tracking system.

This passport was returned by Xpresspost on 2 December 2011. The tracking number is xxxxxxxxxx.

Canada Post said info not found. It is so frustrated to have passport transported from one place to another. Wish they could mail it directly from Buffalo to me.

I hope they haven't dispatched it from the mailroom. Otherwise.... I don't want to imagine what's going on there.

It means they put in the mail-room and their courier not yet pick up and deliver to Fort Erie so Canada Post has not scanned yours and many others?
That's what I think.

Btw, Buffalo pick up/drop off mails at Fort Erie 2 times a week - mostly on Tuesdays and Fridays. That's been confirmed by Fort Erie Post Office.

Are you able to track your passport? My passport was received to Buffalo on 11 Nov. I am unable to track my passport yet.
I sent them an email yesterday. Still I have not received any reply. Do you know how long did Buffalo take to response?

I check this morning, still NO. Normally, it takes one day to reply from my experience. I email them and the next day I got reply.
@TruongAn: any news from Canada Post?

I cant track mine on canada post....I guess its like what tanoshi said....hopefully...
cuz my xpress tracking number is a re-use......
