Dear All,

I am too in the boat and waiting for PPR since 6 months of my meds.

One thing is I applied for higher studies and got thru one of Quebec universities. And if I go on study permit to Quebec in April'16, if my PR comes after that - whether I can change my status from study to PR in Quebec, or I 've to come back to india and then get stamping, or the change can be managed from Canada.

Also my daughters passport is expiring in sept16, should I get the new passport from Canada or from india. as I believe any new passport information now may further delay my PPR request, if it is in pipeline.

Please throw some light guys. Its critical for my planning ahead.

thanks

Changing status can be done even if you are inside Canada - You just need to go to the border and return back. Its the same as everyone who is inside the Canada either on work visa or study permit or some other non-immigrant visa.

Easier to renew the passport from outside India as there is no problem of requiring 12 months at one address. But keep in mind that there is general rule of passport validity of 6 months for any international travel. Passport renewal doesnt slowdown the process.

My medical was done on 8th November 2015. It appeared (24th November 2015) on ECAS that "Medical results have been received". Can anyone tell me what does it mean and about after how much time they will request for Passport/Visa?

Hi for LVO after medical received line it takes on and average 1 to 6 months to get decision made and PPR. At this stage it is best to order GCMS notes to understand if you have cleared criminal check and security check, if you have passed it then you will get the PPR very soon otherwise you need to wait a bit.

Thanks Anjalidave. If ECAS shows that "Medical Results have been received" then can we presume that we have cleared the tests?

yes, that's right if your ecase shows "Medical has been received" that means you have cleared medical test (normaly it take 1 to 15 days to appear that line on the ecase after the medical)

Anjalidave thanks for your reply. Still they havent ask me to pay the landing fees. will they ask for it first or they can ask it alongwith passport request?

Friends. I received medical, RPRF and Updated Info Chart instructions on 9th Nov and completed medical on 23rd Dec. There is no "Medical received" line updated on ECAS till yet. Is it the normal process or something to worry about.

Normally they ask to pay RPRF along with medical so it should come anytime now but I suggest to send a small mail to LVO and ask them that you have finished medical but have not received request to pay RPRF.
