Hi Bigboss,

The operational bulletin related to medical extensions has already expired, making extensions obsolete. However assuming that you are still eligible for an extension (rare if your background checks are in progress), medicals can only be extended within 90 days of their expiry for a period of 1 year. If an extension is NOT granted within the 90 days, then it is confirmed you will have to do the medicals again.

Again assuming you are eligible for a medical extension, you will be getting an email from your VO that your medicals have been extended latest by December. If you do not get this email by then, you can assume for sure that you have to under go medicals again for your immigration to be processed.

Sorry it is not the positive information you were hoping for.

Regards,

Yes the worst you can face is re-medicals... Don't worry nothing else will stop.

Have you ever lived or traveled abroad?

Hi:
my medical expired 5 months ago,, my VO replied me about month ago and said that background check still going on,, according to the GCMS. I recieved yesterday,, medical expired and no due date for finishing criminality check while it is still showed in progress.. So how long more we have to wait?? Does really security take this much time?? I don' t think so.....and by the way I got another GCMS 4 months ago . The new one is the same as old one.. No changes in file!!!!!

Background checks take longer if you have a lot of travel history. You could order CAPIS notes to find out what is happening and if your background checks are complete or not. Did you email MCH (he is your visa officer right?) recently? Try pick to up an old email from him and reply to that, as the email subject line contains the correct format to address him.

Medical results have been received as per my ecas dated 13 Sep 2013. Also on the same day, I received an invitation letter from CIC to register for pre-departure orientation seminar. Does this mean that PPR will be coming very soon?
