Dear Baku:

you don't need to get your new police certificate issued. if it's required by them they will ask for it. So don't waste you money and time on it. That's my opinion.

Best,
Savior

I was thinking to get updated police certificate due to the following email one of my friend recieved recently.....

Dear Sir,

We are currently in the process of conducting the necessary background/ security checks.

Please be advised that we require an updated UK police certificate. The document on file is dated June 2012 and is therefore no longer valid. Please submit the police certificate as soon as possible http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/security/police-cert/index.asp

We will proceed further with the processing of your file as soon as the background check has been completed and the police certificate has been received.

We will attempt to extend the validity of your medical result by an additional 12 months.

Kind regards,
CDD

LVO states that:

Please allow four months for us to review incoming correspondence.

All documents submitted in support of your application are subject to verification with the issuing authority.

Please do not contact us unless there are significant issues which need to be brought to our attention

My case is also similar to yours. I did my medicals on November 2012 and on march 2013 they asked for Schedule A deceleration forms. Please could you tell be from which email address you contacted them and they gave you a reply. I'd like to know the email address please. So far I've not been able to contact them and ask about the status of my application.
We are the same her, even they sent me same reply
Background chech is outstanding"

Hi All. Got the following reply to my CSI that I sent yesterday. I am a Feb 2010 applicant and I did my medical on 23rd of May 2013. I asked them whether they have received my medicals or not and what is the current status of my application.

""Thank you for your email regarding your application for permanent residence to Canada.

We have now received the documents and the medical examination results that we requested from you. Your file (########) is currently undergoing final background checks.

Please be advised that this can be a lengthy process, we will be in contact when there have been further developments with the processing of the file. ""

So what does this mean? When am I going to get PPR? Any experts?

Actually if someone background check is in process and the applicant has not passed criminality till that time then the applicant may receive following email from LVO,

Please be advised that we require an updated police certificate. The document on file is dated June 2012 and is therefore no longer valid. Please submit the police certificate as soon as possible.

We will proceed further with the processing of your file as soon as the background check has been completed and the police certificate has been received.

Again… if during background checks police certificate is expired and applicant didn’t send updated police certificate before final review then applicant will get updated police certificate request which will further delay his case for 3 to 4 months because LVO states that, Please allow four months for us to review incoming correspondence.

Obviously, if you have passed criminality then now you don't need updated police certificate

Only those applicants need updated police certificate whose criminality is not passed and their police certificate has completed 12 months from the date of issue.

In this case LVO, will ask to submit updated police certificate before finalizing the application.

Hello! In my experience I got my medical last Dec 2012 and my ecas status "Medical results have been received." last Jan 18,2013. Fortunately, CES asked for my PPR last July 13, 2013. Yay!:) Now waiting for my visa :) Goodluck to all!:) Godbless.

Congrats....are you Manila based applicant?

LVO takes time to process Pakistani applications...

Dear Baku Salman:

In your friend's case they have asked specifically. So you should wait until you are asked to submit it. Let me share you my example, I was asked to submit twice Character Certificated by Local Police (that's before medical). I got my medical call when both of the Certificates were not valid, so they didn't asked for it. So if they ask for any Character Certificate then you will be getting 30 days to submit it. Don't give them any chance that there is some fishy thing going on at your end. this may delay the things.

rest is all up to you.

best,
Savior

See you had to submit Twice Character Certificate, as a result you passed your ciminality and got MR

Once you passed criminality (before or after MR) they will not asked again Character certificate

In GCMS notes applicant see criminality: Not started or criminality: Passed

If character certificate has passed 12 months from the date of issue, LVO will ask updated character certificate

So Applicant can get ready character certificate (because in some countries it takes time to get it), if VO ask, they can send it immidiately...
