Hi everybdy

We filled our common law application outland, with plenty of evidence we believe, which was received on the 28th Oct 2011 and transfered to the VO on the 9th January 2012. Last week we were asked to do the medical. We took this as a positive sign! Will the interview come next?
Thanks

I wouldn't read too much into this...

You were actually supposed to do the medical before you submitted the application and should have included proof that the medical had been completed along with the original application package. So the VO is just requesting information from you that is missing from your application.

As for the interview, ideally you want no interview (just an approval). If you are called for an interview, that's typically a sign that they suspect your relationship isn't genuine.

Hope this helps.

Hi Scylla,

Thanks for the reply.

All the doctors we called both in Spain and Portugal told us that the medical is done upon request of the VO, and I do have written confirmation by the Paris VO that the medical is not submitted with the application. I know that London is different, is an up-front medical.

We were just wondering if there is a logical order, first the interview and then the medical or the other way around.

Each country is different. Some require the medical to be done before submitting application, and others request it after. An interview isn't always mandatory and is decided upon by the immigration officer handling your file. Good luck!
