Hi everyone, I’m here to seek some advise if anyone has the same situation as mine. I’ve applied under TR-PR pathway included with my husband, he did his first upfront medical at IOM Manila,Philippines last July 23 and the result he got he needs to retake his X-ray and did the sputum test. After 3months October 25th came back again for another test and his result for the sputum is negative but according to his X-ray results His lung fields is abnormal and there is a present evidence of Tuberculosis. Active TB findings ; apical fibronodular/fibrocalcific lesions/apical calcifications. The
immigration medical team from London replied after 24hours that he needs another assessment from same panel physicians and will do additional test. Your advises is highly appreciated. Thank you so much.

Well one thing Canada is afraid of is someone coming in with a comunicable disease. So if the report says he is positive to some things the best bet is to get to the root and rerun the test to be sure, they might possibly refer him for treatment. I know someone who is inland and had traces of TB though not much he was asked to rerun the test and was refer to a physician, also his BP was high on the day of the medical, that too was looked into. So it's for your own good that the test is rerun. It's won't stop anything

Same thing happened to my son 22 y/o. He also went to IOM Manila. Initial medical exam was June 7, 2021. They did sputum testing and xray. Sputum testing came back negative. Doctors didn’t mention anything about the xray. Manila VO sent an email after a week requiring additional test. He did a 2nd xray on Sep. 8, 2021 again in IOM Manila. London VO responded next day requiring additional test. Emailed IOM and they said another xray is being required. My son went back again in IOM Manila on Dec. 8 for his 3rd xray. Doctors said there is presence of phlegm but much lesser than previous xrays. They asked him if he was taking TB meds. The next day London VO sent an email requiring him to complete additional test AGAIN. I am wondering..when we did our medical exam back in 2013 my daughter was diagnosed with pneumonia and the doctor prescribed antibiotics and made us come back after two weeks for re-evaluation. If something is wrong with my son’s xray, couldn’t they treat him or at least make a referral or tell him what is wrong (if he has TB or something else) so he could consult his family doctor? It is so frustrating because now he has to wait another 3 months for his 4th xray. Should we do the additional test in St. Luke’s instead as they might be able to help us treat whatever is causing this? Thanks in advance.

Hi, i can relate to what you’ve felt Po ate, it’s frustrating. My husband’s under medication right now. His Second X-ray description says it got worsening with the findings because the upper left lung reticulonudular opacities with vascular crowding and haziness. That’s why they finally recommend him to pulmonologist and gave him a prescription that he can only get from the health Center and it will take 6months of under medication every 2months he needs to repeat his x-ray to IOM from then last October 25 he didn’t receive any updates from his sputum TBsmear and culture results but the nurse says they will contact him right away if he has active TB. I seriously don’t know what will happen next po. But I am
Praying hard that we can surpass this and will be together soon. The immigration did sent me an email about our upfront medical. I only sent them back are tracking sheet. Just to prove them that we did the upfront medical. Btw, he did a second opinion from PGH paco Manila the pulmonologist told him that he’s okay that he does not have an active TB or something he did even read the X-ray that the IOM gave to my husband. I seriously don’t know what to do.

Hi. I am in somewhat same situation. Would you please confirm whether IRCC or the medical center officially recommended your husband to undergo treatment? I heard that it depends on the visa officer and he/she might reject the applicant in case of active TB. I am worried as I have to submit sputum samples from tomorrow onwards.

Update: after my son’s 4th consultation with IOM he was finally referred to a specialist in Makati Med. My son was seen Feb. 9 and the specialist did not find anything wrong with my son. No TB, no anything. The doctor said he will send the result to the VO that he did not find anything wrong with my son. Now we are just waiting for the email from the VO.
