Medical received deadline - HELP HELP

Dear all,

with a grace of god, i received a requested for medical today. on the latter it says please forward all the requested documents together within 30 days of the letter.

1) Do i need to send my passport with medical examination ? I am in Uk and my Tier 1 visa expires in one month time so i am planning to send my passport to uk immigration office so i can send my passport with medical. I am not sure wheter i need to send passport or not ?

Please help. On the lettter they asked for updated police certificate, medical examination, PR fee, IMM008,IMM5406 and new shedule a background

i received my medical request today but in the letter they said please forward all the requested documents together within 30 days from the letter. if we do not hear from you within a period your application will be accesed on the basis of information of the file and your application may be refused.

the letter is dated 3rd of october which i received only today.

how can i finish medical, police certificate and all in 30 days ? can i ask for extension ? do i need to send a passport with that ?

you only need to send passport when they ask for it.
note that you will have limited time to submit passport when they ask, so better to choose the fastest option to apply to the UKBA (I am going for the same-day service next week).

I am very scared to go in person at UKBA. I am planning to apply by post on first week of Nov for my tier 1 extension. Hopefully i will received it back by January 2013.

do you know once the medical is done and received by cic. how long it take to request for Passport document ??? any idea ? I assume it take a quite long time so i don't need to apply in person to ukba as i am not comfortable with that.

Please advise.

Quite often passport request comes only 1 month after medicals, so I strongly advise you to go in person. UKBA can take 6 months to return your passport if you apply by post. You may have to withdraw your application to get your passport back from UKBA. It will take 1 month to have your passport returned from UKBA when you withdraw it and you can become overstayer by that time. So better to apply in person. I am not comfortable with personal application either, I am not excited about being treated like an unwelcomed second-class citizen in Europe. But we can tolerate this humiliation, because it is more important to have passports handy for the Canadian PR stamping. Sometimes they request passport by mail and when you receive the letter you may have less than one month to send passport for stamping.

Thank for your prompt reply. You are right but there is no appointment available as well. Normally it take 3 month to get it stamped back. 3 years ago i got it done within a month( but now things have changed as you mentioned)

It canada high commission ask for passport we can always send a photocopy of the passport with explanation of unable to send a passsport because of this problem. I am sure they can give extension of the deadline or anything like that.

I know what you mean. But canada high commission took more than 3 years for asking for medical request and dont know in future how long it take to received medical and send passport request

I dont want to rush and ruin my chances of Uk visa utill i received anything from canada.

can we write a letter and explain them in future if we cant submitte the passport ? any idea ?

There are appointments. You just need to log on at 3-4 am and you will see plenty of them. During daytime there are no slots. Also don't hesitate to go to another city if you see appointments. It will save you from unnecessary stress if you get your passports back the same day.

When they put your file back to the queue, you never know when they will reopen it again. Remember the backlog cases that were returned recently. Better not to ruin your Canadian chances: do you want to get a permanent status at once or you want to spend the rest of your life extending UK visas endlessly? 8)

You will get PPR very soon. The fact that they took 3 years to send you MR does not mean your PPR will come after 3 years. Join our thread "London office - medicals completed in July/August" and you will see how quick some people got it. Even I got passport request after 3 weeks from medicals (but later they cancelled it - more background checks needed).

yes my friend you are right. But i had a few rejection in uk in the past. They might ask this questions when i apply for in person and i am not sure i can answer those in person (as i might be in st stress and might communicate incorrectly)

while in the post they never ask for more information. its bit superstitious as well. I appriciate your concern. I checked the frequently a ask question on cic website and it says below

I need a visa but I cannot submit my passport at this time. Can I still apply without my passport?

In your application, include a notarized copy of each page of your passport and an explanation as to why you cannot submit your passport. Once the application has been screened by support staff, we will advise you to submit your passport. When it is received, it will go into our normal review queue to be reviewed by a visa officer which will take more than a day. You will be given the opportunity to collect your passport personally once a decision has been made. This process generally adds about 1-2 weeks to our processing time.

They do not ask questions on appointment manchai. They will take all your docs and take them to a separate room to the case officer. After one hour they will come out and give you the decision. There is nothing scary at all. If they ask questions, you just need to reply that you were rejected and give reason for rejection (if you know). But I doubt they will ask as the case officer will have your immigration history in his system anyway. Since you got your current visa, you should not have issues.

My case is more difficult: I did not update my UK address on time in my police registration certificate and this may be used as an excuse for not giving me visa. So I decided to go in person and know the answer immediately rather than spend 6 months waiting for the rejection. You are just causing unnecessary delays by posting your application. My humble advice is to spend a few weeks logging at night and looking for appointments around UK. It took me 2 weeks of endless search before I managed to "catch" an appointment. Then if you do not get appointment before your visa expiry, just post the application.

I will try to book appointement from tonight. what is your opinion on that Frequently asked question about passport not available ?

it says it only add up 2 weeks delay in process

In my envelope there are three pages.

1) Ask for different updated form,medical,PR fee, Updated UK police certificates etc. in this page deadline to submite the documents was 90 days. But Caseworker has overwrite 90 days wth pen and written 30 days .

so my deadline to submitted the document is 30 days of receipt of the letter. how can case worker change my deadline from 90 to 30 days ???????

2) on Medical request form it you must undergo this medical examination within 60 days of receipt of this instruction
so i am very confused what is my deadline ? i am thinking to e mail CIC ABOUT THIS ISSUE ? WHY CASE WORKER ALTER THE DEADLINE FROM 90 TO 60.

could you please provide some guidance.

Strange. They usually give 60 days on med's.
You can e-mail them asking extension, but I suggest that you start collecting documents because I do not expect any mercy from immigration authorities :-\ UK PCC only takes 2 days to complete. BTW did you submit any other PCCs initially? I wonder why they did not request other countries' PCCs as well, or you only lived in UK since 18 years old?
