so I applied for a visit visa last year , I was getting it but did not provide the documents asked for on time( how dumb). I got a denial letter by email on the 25/5/2010.

now I applied for my student visa and still waiting for a reply but wanted to ask is the medical still valid ? or do you think they'll ask for another one ?

p.s I have done the medical last year for the visa and got a call that i will receive my visa only if I provide the document requested - which i didn't.

by the way , do they issue visas just on time before the semester begins ? or it can be issued before ?

Many thanks ..

I thought that there was no medical for Dubai except for students going for medical and nursing courses

I don't think that's true mate , I've been called up for a medical last year but waiting to see whether they will request a new one for my student visa or not as it's 15 days till it becomes a year now....

No, residents of the UAE don't require a medical, unless they are going to be working in the following occupations: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/medical/dcl.asp#u

Jobs for which you need a medical examination

Depending on your intended occupation while in Canada, certain temporary foreign workers are required to undergo a medical examination. The following list provides examples of such occupations. This list is not all-inclusive.

Occupations that bring you into close contact (more than three hours a day or risk of exchange of body fluids) with people, namely:
workers in the health sciences field
clinical laboratory workers
patient attendants in nursing and geriatric homes
medical students admitted to Canada to attend university
medical electives and physicians on short-term locums
teachers of primary or secondary schools or other teachers of small children
domestics
workers who give in-home care to children, the elderly and the disabled
day nursery employees
Agricultural workers from designated countries or territories.
