Hello..
First of all let me start my saying that this forum is just awesome and a lot of real life basis information which a lot of people has told me that even an attorney's might not even be aware of.
That been said, my wife who is currently pursuing her PhD in USA is thinking about applying for Canada FSW program coming May 2013 when the application opens.
Obviously we are trying to gather all the documents so that we are all set to do by May 2013.
So my question is regarding medical examination. The check list in CIC's website says that we have to submit medical examination of all the family members even though they are not accompanying to Canada.
However my wife will be applying for FSW program with just me (spouse), so does she also have to provide medicals for her mom and dad who are currently residing in her home country?
The points that CIC has put out is very vague and it looks like it was left to interpretation if I am not wrong. So if I can get any information regarding who needs to submit the medical examination, that will be really great. Does CIC send letter asking for WHO needs to submit Medical examination?
If its just my wifes and my medical examination, then it makes sense. If they are asking for our other family members who are not even in USA and are currently residing in home country, that doesnt make any sense.

Please help me clarify this confusion.

1. Only the applicants, i.e. you and your spouse have to have Immigration medicals. Note, you don't take them upfront, you wait, and if CIC accepts and processes the application, then medical instructions will be issued.
2. Does you spouse have any skilled work experience in the past 10 years? If she doesn't have a year of skilled work experience she won't qualify.

Thank you for the clarification.
As for the work experience, she has had a full-time paid position as a research Assistant in Biological sciences through her PhD program for the past 3 and a half years in a reputed US institution. So, I think that since her work is full-time and is paid, it counts as required work experience. But since the CIC website doesn't touch upon this type of work experience, I am again a little confused about it. Do you have any idea about this type of work experience and whether it counts as work experience?
Thanks!!
