Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
My wife is filipina and needs to get her medical exam done soon.

We don't entirely trust all the doctors there and we're interested in hearing about some of the experiences from other filipinas... there seems to be a wide range of experiences as to what the examination includes - virginity tests, rectal, breast exam, etc.

As a Canadian, I would say that virginity tests and a rectal exam (for anyone under 50) would be ridiculous, an invasion of my wife's privacy and simply a matter of a doctor abusing his authority for something that is not required. Can anyone clarify the requirements by Canadian Immigration and describe their experiences in the Philippines? Also, if anyone can specifically suggest a good doctor (preferably female) for the exam...? We have the list of DMPs already...

Any help/info that anyone could provide would be appreciated!

Lol no not afraid of the virginity test... She's not too keen on being probed and prodded and having a rectal exam - which seems entirely unnecessary. I'm interested to know specifically what the medical exam includes...?

are you sponsoring your wife from what country? i never heard virginity test for woman , rectal check i think yes but she need to go to designated medical practitioner for canada embassy.

If your wife can't find someone who has had an immigration medical exam for Canada in the Philippines, she could just phone the doctor's office and ask if the exam includes a pelvic exam and a rectal exam. Judging from the other thread about this, ordinarily they don't, but it wouldn't hurt to ask.

im filipina...theres no virginity test,no rectal exam.....only blood test,x-ray,breast exam ......the doctor will ask your wife if she has a previous illness thats all nothing to be scared of,wheres your wife live? cebu, manila im from cebu pm me if shes here so i can tell her wheres the best DMP for embassy.

@nice2010

I can't PM on this forum, but my wife is from Baguio City but currently in Tarlac... she can go to either Manila or Baguio. Thank you for your reply ;)

I am also a Filipina. It is just physical assessment, chest x-ray, urine test and blood test. Physical assessment to be specific is palpating your neck, breast and abdomen and checking your mouth for some abnormalities.

And oh by the way, it was a Male Doctor who did the examination for me. You should not be worried about it. I mean accredited DMPs are very professional. MY doctor was very professional and nice. And another thing is if it is a Male Doctor and the patient is female, there is a female assistant in the same room. :) ( Golden Rule )

Hi everyone

How far in advance would you have to make an appointment? Can it be days before or is it weeks/months?

Also how long after does it take to receive the results and necessary paperwork?

We're likely seeing the doctor in Baguio

Thanks!

Refer to the DMP of CEM...and there's no viginal or rectal or whatsoever check like that. It's only eye, breast, blood test, urine, chest xray...and I'm also a filipina.
