Medical & Police report for spouse family

I'm planning to sponsor my wife whom married over twenty years ago. (We have been living out side of Canada since till present.)
My wife has mother and one brother (father is dead). Do they need to submit medical and police report even they have no intention to get PR now and future ?

no. "family" for application purposes only means family members included in the current pr application. for spousal sponsorship, that means ONLY dependants. parents, siblings, and sponsors (spouse) do NOT fill out applicant forms, get medical exams or produce police records.
