Hello everyone. I need some guidance here. I have an ITA with 521 points. I am a single mother and I have a daughter 7 years old with ASD mild and ADHD mild. I am reading about medical inadmissibility and it freaks me out to think that i can be turned down so close to my goal. While my daughter doesnt receive any social services from the community/province, we have an IEP at her school. What should i do before my medical? My daughter had a medical done last year for renewal of her dependent visa. There were no flags raised then. Can someone PM me about any immigration attorneys who i should consult before proceeding.

If your daughter's condition is mild, it's quite possible she'll pass the medical without issues.

Having said that, I would do some homework all the same to prepare in the event CIC has any concerns. In the event CIC has concerns, what you'll want to prove is that costs of your daughter's medical and any social social support required falls under $6,500 per year. You'd want to factor into this cost any extra medical appointments she has to attend. And there's also a cost to the system for the IEP - so you'd want to figure out what that is per year to understand how CIC will evaluate it. Good luck.

Unfortunately the medical for PR would be looking for longterm cost versus the medical for the dependent visa. I would search this forum for similar cases and ask which lawyers they have used. There have also been simiIar cases in the news over the past 5 years so I would see who represented those families. IEP and any future special education needs will be the area they will be concerned about plus longterm care plans, if living independently will not be an option, especially as a single mom.

Unfortunately the people who posted in medical inadmissibility didn't provide any attorney details. If anyone can PM me it would be great.
Also if someone can tell me what kind of questions are asked for medical of a 7 wolf it would be helpful.

It's an advertisement for their services - so of course it will sound positive. Do your research - some here haven't had the best experience with them.
I am doing my research now. I don't see anyone shared any immigration attorney details yet. I found bellisimo from the CBC article you shared.

I think someone else shared that article.

I would find and message a member here named 'computergeek' - he went through medical inadmissibility and I believe may have good names of lawyers to recommend. Many members here won't recommend lawyers publicly but are willing to share their names through private messages. Good luck.

Thanks Scylla.
