Medical expiring soon, difficult to land before medical expiry

Hi,

My medical will expire on 7 Aug 2015. However, because of some job/tranfer issues, passport is not with me and may not be able to send my passport for visa/COPR to the Riyadh embassy. Even if i get the visa, I may not be able to land before this date. I sent email to London visa office and got the following reply

If you are unable to land before August 7, 2015, a request for a medical reassessment can be made from our office closer to the expiry date.
At this time, you may or may not be required to complete a new medical examination. You will be contacted should this be the case.
This will need to be done at your own expense with a risk of delay to the entire for the finalization of your application.

If you remain unable to land before August 7th, 2015, kindly reply to this email to confirm.

I seek your expert advise whether I should delay and go for another medical assessment or do anything to land before the expiry date?

hi khan2015. the decision is in your hands....since you don't have the passport with you now. wait and ask for a re-assessment when its close to expiry. its a relief for you that the visa officer gave you the option. but make sure that you keep a copy of his mail...in case your present visa officer is changed b4 the appointed time

Thanks for your reply. Any idea how long extension they can give? Actually, I am changing my job and want to continue it for some time to hoard some money b4 I go to Canada for good. Unfortunately, both the job and immigration came at the same time. I wouldn't be able to get a vacation in the new job until after 6 months and wonder if the visa extension will be long enough.
