Medical Exams for Minor not coming to Canada

I applied for sponsorship on March 25th inland outside Quebec. My lawyer said that my minor daughter (11 years old) needs to do medical exams back home in Brazil. She's not coming to Canada with me. Do they really require her to do medical exams? Also, when will they ask for it?

Yes, it's mandatory that she complete a medical as well.
