Medical Examination, passed 2 of the 3 but 3rd I got to re-do. Question.

The urine test does not show any of those. It's the same argument for weighing someone. Being overweight will not lead to further tests. TB is picked up by the X-ray and syphillis and HIV by the blood test. The worst blood in your urine is is bladder cancer or kidney failure. Neither of which are reasons to be denied.

The DMP have me results and said if I feel unwell see my doctor. I went anyway to get it sorted. 3 days of pills and I am fine.

I've been tested by my own doctor and am fine. If I need to go for another £350 consultation with a DMP I will but given my medical seems to be passed in Ottawa already, I would rather save the money and the £xxx I lose taking time off work to go 'just in case'.
 
You don't need to pay that much - all i paid for was a resit of the urine test (though granted I was a bit aggreived to ppay $50 for the priviledge of peeing in a cup again)

As i said, there's a reason they do the urine test in the first place. If there was no point to it they wouldn't do it. They also check for certain drug use which can perhaps be found in urine, as that could lead to a public health & safety inadmissibility in rare cases.

There is nobody here you need to convince. Its all up to the VO reviewing your file. They may not care, or they may want to ensure you have a clean sample if they are following the general immigration checklist for medical process. They are thorough and will note any diseases or condition an applicant has, even if it doesn't make them inadmissible.

They do the same medical as they do for everyone regardless of inadmissibility status. Else please explain the significance of being overweight or having poor eyesight.

They do not check for drug use. I saw the full results from the laboratory and what was tested on blood and urine. Read the manual as to what is tested for and what will be ignored.

It is not up to to the VO. It's up to the medical officer looking at the results. Why are they going to delay someone's application until they don't have a bladder infection? By the same reasoning they will delay until someone loses weight or someone's back gets better. For spouse and common law this will not happen. While I am sure your advice is well intentioned claiming drug tests are run and you will not be allowed your PR until you no longer have a bladder infection is just scaremongering and not correct at all.

I think this is being blown out of proportion.

1) the op went for meds
2) she was recalled to redo a urine sample (as was I)
3) we don't know for sure what they look for
4) certainly my DMP didn't transmit the results of all of the medical until I had been in to do the retest
5) yes it delayed the process by the one week that passed between doing the first meds and the retest
6) no I won't be refused because of a simple bladder infecyion, but I'm glad the dmp caught it and I've had meds and now its gone.

All people are saying is that the op really should, for the sake of her own health, redo the urine test. CIC might request that she resits it anyway (and no its unlikely she'll get denied - but sometimes with CIC there's no rhyme or reason). If they say jump, i'm gonna ask how high!

6.3 Applicants identified as being excessive demand exempt may require further investigation to determine whether they present a risk to the public health or safety of Canadians. Active tuberculosis and untreated syphilis are examples of medical conditions that present a risk to the public health in Canada. Conditions that pose a threat to public safety in Canada might include:
-certain impulsive sociopathic behaviour disorders
-some aberrant sexual disorders such as pedophilia
-certain paranoid states
-some organic brain syndromes associated with violence or risk of harm to others
-applicants with substance abuse leading to antisocial behaviour such as violence, impaired driving, or other types of hostile, disruptive behaviour

So substance/drug use can indeed be a factor in determining admissibility, although probably very rare. In most cases they probably determine this from the questionnaire the doctor asks, and if substance abuse is suspected they will order additional tests done to detect it.

I'm not saying you would need to retest until a bladder infection is gone. The infection itself is completely irrelevant to the medical officer. The OP has said he's been asked to re-do a test due to blood being in the urine, but there is no actual diagnosis yet or what's the point of another test? So if you send the tests as-is, the doctor will probably show something like "inconclusive due to blood contamination.... applicant was asked to take another test but refused". This is what the medical officer will see, and the reason they may ask for a new test. As others mentioned, with CIC there is often no logical or forward thinking and they will just check things off their list just because it's there. If there's a section for urine test and it shows inconclusive in their findings, i won't be surprised at all if they ask for new test... just because.
 
In case anyone goes back to this thread, I did have high levels of blood in my urine and that result went to CIC. CIC did not ask for any additional tests and I passed the medical.

I was ready to send in confirmation that the urine was now clear following treatment but CIC said no need, medical passed.
 
When I went for my medical the Doc said that I have UTI
and then he said he will send the report as it is
and after few months i ordered gcms notes. it says i passed the medical examination , now my medicals have expired... and they have asked for extension from ottawa..
do you think the doc there in Ottawa will reject my medicals saying I have UTI and I have to redo it ? or they will give extension ?
