Hello People,

I need clarification on when to take medical exam.

My CRS score is 457 and i'm currently not in the pool. I would like to submit my express entry profile in October. As we are expecting a baby this december and my wife would not be able to take medical exam around October, can my wife go for her medical exam now before receiving ITA and can i take my medical exam after receiving ITA in october.

Any information is greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Yes. I suggest you do that before ITA as there's often a delay for getting the med appointment.

And as your score is high enough to likely guarantee the ITA of the next draw, I believe it is safe.

Upfront medical exam is allowed so you can have it anytime, only thing to note is that it is valid for one year only, so if for any reason there is delay on your side to submit e-apr and in processing of your application you might need to do it again. Another thing is CoPR date is usually earliest of medical expiry or passport expiry so if you do in much advance you might not get sufficient time to land. Otherwise medical exam can be done anytime.

But your reason is wife being pregnant so you need to tell that to the doctor when you go for medical exam as x-ray may not be advised during pregnancy.

Hi @doge and @hope2018

https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/application/medical-police/medical-exams/requirements-permanent-residents.html

From the above link, i got the below information
________________________________________________
Get your exam before you submit your application
Are you applying to sponsor your spouse, partner or child?
A new application process for the spousal sponsorship program came into effect on December 15, 2016. Spouses, partners or dependent children can no longer do an upfront medical exam. Wait for our instructions before going for your medical exam.

This is called an upfront medical exam. To get an upfront medical exam, contact a panel physician directly.

Once your medical exam is done, the doctor will give you a document confirming that you got a medical exam. Include a copy of that document with your application.

If the doctor works with the eMedical they will give you an upfront medical notification printout.

If the doctor works with a paper system they will give you a copy of the IMM 1017B Upfront Medical Report form.

Attach that form to your application before you submit it to the visa office. If you apply online, you must upload that form before you can submit your application.
________________________________________________

If i take an upfront medical exam, how would my medical report reach IRCC

1) Should i submit the report while applying for PR after getting ITA.

or

2) Would the physician directly send to IRCC ? In this case if the report is directly sent to IRCC. How is it mapped to my express entry profile which would be created at a later date ?

Could you please share your thoughts ?

Physician would directly upload the results to e-medical system of canada. You just need to upload health information sheet which they will provide you when you submit your PR application post ITA.

IRCC looks up e-medical system based on that health iformation system you upload which has a unique number and your personal details.

And be careful with your words, dont say express entry profile will be created later, you must already be having EE profile, it is just that your PR application will be created later than ITA.

Yeah the doctor will ask to see your ITA letter first before conducting the medical. You will also need a passport size photo.

Was speaking from my personal experience, INLAND Toronto, Canada, I went to this doctor from the list of Panel Physician from CIC:
City: Scarborough
Name: Ann Tsang
Address: Dr Ann Tsang Medicine Professional Corp,
4002 Sheppardd Ave East, Suite 218,Ontario M1S 1S6
www.ATCCdoctors.ca. clinic.979999@gmail.com
Telephone: 416 902 5033 416 497 1990
Spoken Languages: Cantonese, English, Mandarin

The doctor WILL verify that you have received ITA because upfront medical must be done within 30 days. The doctor will explain the process and why. This is an e-medical process, CIC might also request further information after your tests. Best of to luck you.

Yeah. Actually, you do not need to give them ITA. I did mine in a bloor st west place and they did not ask for anything other than my passport,1 photo and my credit card ;):
City: Toronto
Name: Gabor Lantos
Address: Medisys Corp Health LP,
3280 Bloor Street West Centre Tower,
8th Floor, Suite 802,
Ontario

Sometimes, doctors are over booked and they tend to set up barriers. Just try reaching out to another one when you experience that~

Hello @yaadman, @doge , @hope2018

For your upfront medical exam, what is the visa category that you have selected

EDE - Family
or
Non EDE - Student / Worker / Visitor
