does it matter if you file outland where you have your medical exam ?
i live in california and it cost about 300
im going to visit my boyfriend in june and i heard in montreal its about 150
can i have it done in montreal instead of in the states if we file outland?

As long as it is done by a Designated Medical Practitioner (DMP) it doesn' matter where you have it done. Just ensure you fill in the form correctly and select the correct visa office (Buffalo).

yah, it doesnt matter. Having it done in Florida would have cost almost $500, but here it was only $178

there is a fee to have this done wow wth wasnt budgeting for that

I got mine done in Montreal and paid $230, but it was around $30 extra because it was outland (meaning I had to use a particular form).

Wow, I signed up to ask exactly this question! I'm also applying outland and live in Florida, near had a heart attack when I found out how much the DMP down here wanted. Anyone know anything that cheap in Edmonton or Calgary?

Yeah, they really know how to kick you when you're down, with all the fees involved in the sponsorship, not to mention the stress of it all.

I applied outland through Buffalo, and had my exam done here in Canada. You'd probably do best just to call around and see what the doctors charge for the medical exam.

Here's a link to the list of Designated Medical Practicioners. http://www.cic.gc.ca/dmp-md/medical.aspx

Hi GPSMiami1610.

I did my medicals in Edmonton and they are crazy, i paid exactly $345

medical examination $200
Chest X-Ray $ 45
Laboratory $100

Im applying inland.

Take care.

medical fees in the uk are horrendous!
i paid 240 quid each
plus 95 quid each per xray
times this by 4 fmaily members!!

lorra lorra dosh...

Lol, yes it gets up there cost-wise with every little thing. Make sure that it's money well-spent by doing it right before you mail in the application (with the original of copy 2 of the form the doctor signs included) because if you delay you risk the medical results expiring (takes 1 year) by the time it gets forwarded to the visa office.

I paid 100 bucks for all 3. Im living in Quebec, Gatineau with my common-law partner, the closest one was in Ottawa though.
Dr.Max della Zazzera very good doctor. Check him out if you're in the area.
