Thank you Lasiar. :)

Just an update on my medical exam validation extension - I did not receive the extension as we passed the 15 months timeframe. Need to do the medicals again. Paying ~ 800 dollars for 2 people really bothers me, however, I have to do it.

From the username, I assume Tenneseean is in the US. But, it's not a US phenomenon - I've seen even higher reported. You were lucky with the $230 ;)

I am from Tennessee, USA. Last time, when I called around; the least price was around 350 usd per person. I have to travel at least 200 miles to get the medicals done. So, it adds up to 400 dollars. You were really lucky to have medicals done for $230. I am happy for you.

Hi Lasiar, thank you for the encouraging words. I am happy for you that you finally got COPR.

We paid about that too. And the doctor didn't even see my husband! But oh well, we are in Canada and that is all that matters.

There's a new procedure that will allow medical validity to be extended if your application processing is completed within 15 months of the original medical exam and the only thing stopping your application from final approved and PPR is the expiration of your medical results (or ability to reasonably land within the initial year-long validity).

Officers will now be able to submit a request for an extension of the medical exam result validity (as long as they were done within the last 15 months) and they can extend them for an additional 12 months without the need for an additional medical exam. The details are on the CIC website.

Hopefully this saves folks time and expense of extra medical exams.

Wow, thank you for sharing! I am glad I checked in here.

$230 is crazy lol.
in canada when we got the first medical done , in vancouver it was only $150, that was about 17 months ago. anything over $200 is a robbery haha! !.

Hello to everyone,

Just a small update on my file.
I was waitng for a medical extension but apparentlly they didn't give it to me.
I have to redo an x-ray once again... >:(.
And I have to go down to Bucharest to do it >:(
And that will delay my file... :(.

I am very angry but I don't have other choice only to do what they asking me to.

That is exactly what they had asked me to do. The IO had requested an extension and after one i was adviced to re-do an chest x-ray which i did and i had to send if off to London vo and it took one month and 10 days mfor them to finalize the application after they recieved the x-ray, fingers crossed for you. The good thing is that you know that your file is not forgotten and you will have your COPR in a month if you act upon it very quickly.. Good luck with the appointment with a doctor..

Thank you Yasin for the quick answer.

I will do this chest x-ray asap and I will go by myself at the Embassy and give it to them...

And I will see then how long it will take untill this paper will be processed.

Yes, its a good news but another month of delay its to much for me...I've been waiting now for 13 months for this visa, but its going to be fine, being at my husband side its priceless. :)
