my husband's medicals just expired, I sent an email to our VO, asking, if he should renew them, but no answer from them until now how would I know, that they requested an extension? Would I be able to see that on ecas? Would they let me know?

Hi waikki, my husband found out about his extension via phone call from the VO.. That does not show on our cas is just says decision made and husband will be contacted, which they have already.

just wanted to say that I checked e-cas today and it shows my husbands current address now as mine.. Yaaa! not sure when that was done or what it means exactly but is exciting none the less.. lol.. How are you all doing?

I know the feeling all too well.. it took 8 weeks for us too hear about the approval email for the extension sent to VO and then they responded to my email that I sent on July 16, they responed on the 31st to say extension was received and file is ready for finalization. hang on, we know it will come just dont know when, and that is the hard part, the unknown. I really hope to not wait for so long, the officer lady at my iterview said 2 ot 3 weeks, but its not always the case at it was for you.

I am am patient, running out of patience but still I have just a little bit left.

Hi Zouk Princesse.. yes it has been long wait for us. request sent june 7th .. we are at final stage now as Detroit VO sent email july 31 saying they received extension approval and our file is ready for finalization, then on august 7th checked e-cas and my hubbies current address has been changed to mine. so there is some movement still have no date as to when he will finally get his papers but I pray soon. I hope you dont have to wait 8wks, but seems like the extension has not made anything faster.

Yeah, I saw that and that's exactly what I was afraid of - that the extension would take even longer than the redo. I mean yes it saves money, but at this point, I'd gladly pay the $300 to see my husband as soon as possible! Unfortunately we didn't have a choice in the matter, VO informed us that the extension had been requested all on their own. We tried to redo the medicals ourselves, DMP says he won't do it without the request from VO, VO obviously won't send paperwork to DMP given that they've already requested the extension. Talk about your catch 22! So now all we can do is wait n hope to heaven it does not take 8 weeks

I know exactly how you feel, and believe me it doesnt get any easier.. Hang in there, it does move just takes a while.
