Medical Exam - Panel Physicians

During the medical exam, do the panel physicians make you disrobe completely (including bra and panty)? If yes, do they let you at least wear a hospital gown to cover privates?
I have been reading different threads, and different people seem to have provided different answers.

Is there a place where I can read reviews on panel physicians? When I was researching them, it appeared that there were some really unprofessional, rude and creepy panel physicians who people recommended avoiding.

Who would you recommend? (Especially with regards to being non-invasive. I don't have an issue if I can cover my private parts/not be touched in private parts)

Anything with respect to genitalia is not part of the medical exam and if requested, you can say no.

Sorry about that. I live in New Brunswick, Canada. I am willing to drive as far as Ontario to go to a good panel physician though.

Genitals are not examined. As part of the x-ray, you need to take off all your clothes above the waist, but you do that in a changing room and are given a gown so no one actually sees anything. During the normal exam, the doctor does that usual thing where they touch your abdomen and all, but I had my shirt and bra on and she just pulled the shirt up a bit (same for when she listened to my heart and breathing).

I had my exam in Edmonton and I'm not aware of cases of people being examined past this given that the exam seems to be uniform in nature - everyone has to do the same things.

Ok. Thanks. I don't mind having to take my bra off if I have a gown covering my breasts. I am just super closed about my body and don't like anyone seeing or touching my private parts. I don't mind people seeing the amount they would see if I were wearing a bikini. Anything past that is traumatising for me. Abdomen and lifting shirt to listen to my heartbeat is fine.

Good that you saw a good physician. I read some horror stories about bad physicians. Actually, I have personally known people some terrible things happened to. I understand that things that happened may not have been permissible, but sadly, that doesn't stop it from happening. Maybe some day, they will be reported and disbarred, but until that they comes, they tend to get away with wrongdoings and often crimes.

In general as a woman you should be getting regular pelvic exams every 3 years and breast exams for any abnormalities but there is a procedure where you wear a paper gown thing and you are partially covered for all the exam and they should go in a sequence. You can always ask for a female staff member to come in the room if the physician is male or probably at any time.
