Medical Exam for Kids

I am the PA and I received the letter requesting a medical exam this morning. I was surprised to receive the same letter for my kids, who have Canadian citizenship from their dad, my sponsor. I completed an online app in September, and I am pretty sure I made the mistake of putting my kids on the IMM 0008. We received the AOR and it only listed my name as being on the application to be sponsored, but when I go onto the status tracker it lists me and my kids as applicants. Should I send CIC a request to remove my kids from the application process, explaining that I idiotically added them to the 0008? Will the CIC figure it out when my medical exam is completed, but my kids' exams are not? Or should I get exams for my kids? Thank you for any help in this matter!

Send a webform that the children are Canadian citizens and don't need medicals. You can explain as you suggest. I don't think you need to 'request they be removed', that'll jsut confuse things.

If you haven't done yet, I'd suggest resubmitting the IMM0008 in corrected form.

Same issue here. I also received the medical requests for the Canadian dependants, and I am sure the format on the new portal system has mistakes. It states the applicant MUST list all the dependants no matter what status they are, including PR and citizen. I sent the message through Webform to the IRCC.

I got this too and kid is Canadian. We were stuck with the dilemma, send a webform that likely won’t get looked at and responded to for 12 or so weeks or get the medical and just write it off as a lost expense. We ended up doing the medical but also sent a webform explaining situation. I never got a response on it. My PR has since been approved, but this seems to be a common glitch in the system.

I received a letter today that said to disregard the letters requesting medical examinations for my kids in December.

I hope IRCC finally figured this gap in their form/process/training and stop sending out unnecessary requests.

The in-land IRCC (Sydney) responded very quickly. They removed the child's medical exam request on the same day.

I don’t think it’s a mistake on the form as you have to list all dependents no matter what.
This is true for IMM5406 (Additional family relationships) but not for IMM0008. The text is misleading in the online form and I did the same mistake and got my application returned because I included my son who is 19 yo. After all, it was missing many forms for him. I removed him and resubmitted then I got AOR last Friday.

I know I'm not alone doing that mistake and this post confirmed this.
