Medical exam details - are x-rays mandatory? Would I need to visit clinic/s multiple times?

I'm about to undergo a medical exam for spousal PR and I wanted to hear others' experiences about how common is it that they require x-rays and other special tests. Is that something they do for everyone or only in certain cases (maybe older people or with pre-existing conditions)? For context, I'm under 25 and had no significant health issues in my life. If relevant, the clinic is in the US, where I am currently residing.

What I really need to know though, is if everything would be done in one day and in one place, and not require me to travel again to the clinic on a different date or to different clinics, as I am in an extremely unfavorable position to execute this (freshly relocated, no car, don't know transport system and area, no family/friends, no panel physicians within a reasonable distance so have to stay in hotels, on a budget, etc).
Any advice appreciated.

We don't know where you are located but most places it would all be done at the same facility and same time. Usually only have to go back if it is determined they want a follow up test etc.

You will need the x-ray and blood test. The panel physician will give you instructions on how to get those done and you should be able to book them in close time proximity. For instance, my exam is scheduled for the late afternoon and my x-ray and blood work for first thing next morning (at a different facility). I could have done them back to back but since they're in different places (about 10 min apart but still) and it's local to me didn't want to run the risk of the appointment running long and missing the blood/x-ray. I would not stress about it - explain that you're coming from a distance and I'm sure they'll be happy to help you with scheduling them closely. Regardless, they will want the bloodwork and x-ray done as close to the appointment as possible because the Dr can't finish his report without them.
