Medical Exam confusion - please advise

The Call Centre is the most unhelpful and confusing thing.

Maybe I really am just stupid, and way over my head in what I thought I was doing but I still am left confused.

I called the call centre, the first time the guy told me there was no way to help me.

So I went back over my info and called back and spoke to someone else, they told me my application was in Los Angeles (I honestly thought it was in Ottawa, because that's the Visa office they listed it was going to on our Sponsorship Approval and the one I requested based off the "where to send your application on the CIC website) But apparently my application is in LA which has a wait time of 26 months. . . am I missing something? Am I stupid?

Apparently I just need to ask for an up front medical and they should understand, so I"ll try again and if not I guess we'll be taking a road trip to another Dr.

I have an Outland application, I didn't provide a US address because I don't have one, my address was my husbands where I am living as a visitor in Canada, The SA letter said our application was going to CPC Ottawa but their records have it in LA. . . someone please enlighten me, I feel like a moron because I don't understand what's going on!

It is possible that your application was sent to LA, which is unfortunate. It seems that applications get sent there at random. What I would do is order GCMS notes - that's what I did. It'll give you a clearer picture about where you application is.

Also, yeah just go into the office and ask for an upfront medical. Don't even mention the SA letter. Just say you want to do the medical for immigration.

That's what I've heard, or if there are red flags and they want to do an interview. I think it's strange that yours was sent there right away though. Did multiple call centre people say that? Or just one? You could always try calling again and seeing what another agent says.

One thing I noted is that in the application it asks to describe your situation, and the person in the video puts 'academia'. I personally put 'member of the public' and it worked just fine.
Note that these notes take one month to be returned to you, and make sure you request an emailed version, not the paper version!! You'll get an acknowledgement email with a tracking number (useless) and then ~30 days later you'll get your notes. For example I requested mine March 11th and got them April 10th.

My notes were able to tell me where my application is, for example mine says:

Primary Office: CPC Mississauga
Secondary Office: CPP Ottawa

...I have no idea why this was updated in 2010 - that was the first time he came to visit me (2010/05/08 was when he flew into Canada) but other than that I have no idea.

So that leads me to assume my app is in Ottawa not LA since LA is not mentioned on my notes at all. Hope that helps!

Both Agents I spoke to told me it was in LA

But the second one insisted that only Inland applications would be in Ottawa so there obviously was an error on where I wanted my visa office to be. Which is very frustrating because I tried to question them on their knowledge and they asked me if I had any more questions otherwise they couldn't help me anymore. . . so I was pissed and hung up (I also should add I am always obnoxiously polite to these people, call centre's suck but an immigration call centre must suck the most so I have sympathy) . . . it seemed like she didn't want to help me at all.

Husband is calling back tomorrow since he is a Citizen and doesn't get as nervous talking on the phone >.<

I've ordered my notes and I guess a month from now I'll have more insight.

This puts a huge damper on plans and might result in us having to just have him immigrate to the states because it will be quicker and I have connections. . . just really is annoying and inconvenient.

you will get more help on this site than you will from the call center.Just call another Dr and see what they say .My husband did his outland medical here and we didn't have a problem .He doesn't even live here lol . If you are here with your husband thats a plus . I know you aren't able to work while you are here, but doing outland you can go back and fourth to the states . Hope you sort this out soon .

Guys...sorry I dont have anything to contribute as a soultion in this thread....but facing a medical related problem myself....could someone pls help!!

Here's the situation:

My file is In process since 28th March... got updated on e-cas on the 2nd Of April.

31st March- MP goes ahead with our enquiry, to see if my medicals ( done on 5th March 2013) will be extended or i'll have to re-do.

4th April- Get an e-mail form the Delhi Medical for re-assessment of medicals.

Now here the problem, while they got my application number correct on the e-mail, they have messed up my surname competely.

To rectify this, I replied back to them on the same e-mail address asking for a correction or go ahead. I have also raised a couple of case specific enquiries on the Delhi board, but havent heard back from them.

MP again called CIC this monday, only to be told that my background checks are still going on and I shouldnt have been sent the e-mail in the first place.


Now i'm totally confused as to how to proceed, becasue the e-mail says they expect the reports within 30 days else it could lead to refusal of my visa!

Times running and i'm cluless!!! Can someone please help!!
