Hello,
I just want it to book the medical test for Common Law Sponsorship!
And I thought it is around 250 Dollar ... but they want 400 Dollar???

And I do have to do the test before I send all the Application or can I send it later, because I know it is only valid for a year?!

How much should the medical cost???
:-[ :)

It varies widely. Some places charge under 200, some up to 400. Shop around if it's possible in your area.

They've never been the same price everywhere - generally cheaper in larger cities in Canada.

Most expensive are in international locations.

But 400 Dollar Can! I never heard from that number? Can the doctor office mistake?
My wife lives in northern Germany, a few hours from the border of Denmark. She had to go all the way to Berlin for a medical exam. The medical exam cost 260 euros. The 5.5 hour trip there and back cost about 150 euros. So while the exam itself was only 270 euros, add that up with the cost of the trip, it all came out to be 410 euros. Of course, the trip was an incidental cost, but it was still a cost related to it. Take a look at this thread dated 2011: http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/the-cost-of-medical-exam-t88442.0.html . The OP's medical exam in northern BC was $475.

If you're upset with the cost and need to be sure about it, just give the doctor a call again and confirm it.

$400 is not unusual. I've certainly seen higher.

Sure - it's possible the doctors office made a mistake. You can certainly call them and find out.

I believe you need to pay for the costs separately - doctor exam, blood work, and x-ray. So make sure you also know what that $400 is covering.

Doctors can charge whatever they want. Typically if there are lots of CIC doctors around (like in Toronto) they will be pretty cheap since there is so much competition. Doctors in smaller towns where they are the only CIC doc around, will charge much more because they know people don't have any other options. Supply and demand.

For outland app you should do the medical as close as possible to sending the app, and submit it upfront with the app.

For inland, I think it's better to wait until they ask since processing time is 2 years so guaranteed the medical would expire if you did it upfront, and CIC may or may not extend it.

I did ours in Calgary. It was $225 each and then I had to go to 2 labs. 1 did the chest xray for $75 each and then we did the blood/urine tests for around $40 each. So $340 total each.

I paid $400 in Edmonton. $250 for doctors, $100 for pathology and $50 for xray. There may have been cheaper but that clinic was the only one open on weekends so never bothered calling any others.

Depends on the person and the Doctor.

The first exam cost us $100 in Bangkok and included minimal tests. However, the re-medical 1.5 years later cost closer to $450 with a different Doctor (the previous Dr was forced into retirement).

It was the 2nd Dr who had recommended additional tests in order to satisfy CIC and make sure they don't request anything else. In our case, the Dr recommended additional testing of my wife's thalassemia and a previous tract infection. As a result, the medical was approved within 2 weeks of receipt at CIC.
