My medical has change from in process to not needed at this time. It was in process since last December I've never heard of this happening before any ideas what this means? Any help would be greatly appreciated

this sometimes happenes when your application encounters problems. Assuming this is not just a mistake in your file, Medical switching from in progress to not needed might mean your application will be refused.

Did your medial hit the passed stage at any point?

No it never changed to the passed stage but I got this email this morning. I never made a request to withdraw my application

yes., any point changing to not needed at the time, usually ends with application closing.

You have two options
1. send a cse poitning that they have made a mistake , and that you never withdrew your application - they will reopen your application but it will most likely take them a long time do to it
2. if you have enough crs points, create a new profile and start the process again

But my background check changed from Not Started to Not Needed at this time . Is this also an issue ?

This is also an issue, but this one usually means they will request an additional document from you.

I called cic today and I was informed that they withdrew my application because my old paper route that I submitted in October 2014 was in the final stages so it's not all bad.

This is good ! It means you are done. From what i ve read, they cancel duplicate applications once the first one is finalized. So, you should be getting the ppr soon :)

this is only the case when an applicant has two applications at the same time., and since he did not mention this I assumed he only applied thru express entry.

So if my background changes from not started to not needed at this time is an issue?? :o now I'm scared!
When i first submitted my application, BG was at "not started". then after 2 days my medical went to "passed" and BG "not needed at this time". So far i have not been asked to send any additional documents, my profile says "No additional documents needed at this time" could this mean trouble for me?

If you did not get any "cancelled" or "withdrawn" notification within 48 hours after the updates, then no need to worry. :)

there was a lot of people that got bg from not started to not needed a few months back..
me included.
My Bg changed back from not needed to not started a few days later.

When I ordered my GCMS notes, I was shocked when I saw that at that exact time, an agent issued a refusal letter to me and cancelled my entire application - this is when my bg changed to not needed.
after a few days, another officer reviewed my application and they issed a fairness letter to me., he also reopend my application once again, and this is when status of my bg changed back to not started.

I don't know if this is the case with all applications, but it is definitely the case with mine.

every time one thing changed to not needed, they canceled my application - this happened twice already ; once with medical and the second time with refusal based on another thing.

mind you, my application is now opened, and still in progress.. so all of this doesn't have to end up all bad.

@Yelena I hope you don't mind my asking, but what was the second reason your application almost got cancelled for?
This is my first time of hearing that "BG not needed" means an issue, I am even more worried because I have never been asked to submit any additional documents, not even Schedule A.

@Bellaluna, the "BG not needed at this time" happened about a month ago, no cancellation so far.
