You can appear for medicals if you are absolutely sure that it is at least few days away and there'll be no blood what-so-ever in urine test. If you can't appear today then schedule it few days after your supposed periods time.
Please update as one of my coworker wife had the same issue and she had medical next week and her date is also the first week.
