Hi!
I'm about to apply PR on this December. I'm wondering that when should i take the Medical and English test. Should i go to lawyer for my application or better to prepare all by myself.
Thanks you.

once your application is being processed by CIC you will get a request to get your medicals done

and English test.

do this whenever. results are valid for two years. so anytime between now and the day you submit your application.

Should i go to lawyer for my application or better to prepare all by myself.

If you follow the instruction guide provided by cic and carefully read the document checklist you can do it on your
own, as many other users here do and did.
however, you might want to ask a lawyer to proof read your application upon completion.
it's a question about money, can you afford it or not. a lawyer does not speed up the process
or grant you special rights.

Thanks you.

Thank a lot Toby. I'm just afraid of making some mistakes in my application, and it will get refused by cic if i do it all by myself. Besides, I have no idea about how much would it cost to see a lawyer in Canada.

Lawyers costs range from like $1500-$5000. You might find cheaper ones, or even more expensive.
Your application won't be rejected simply because you don't have a lawyer. If you follow the
instruction guide, and prepare all documents according to the guidelines mentioned in the document
checklist, there shouldn't be any issues at all.
And if you have any questions, there's tons of users here happy to help.

It saves you some time during the application process. As CIC doesn't have to request the medicals.
But in case your application gets rejected, for whatever reason, you're jeopardizing the money you spend on medicals.

does that mean if I get the medicals test request after applying, my application is being process and gonna be ok (in case of the medicals test is good)?

If you get the medical request from CIC it means that you passed eligibility stage and stuff. If your
meds are ok too, things are looking good for your application.
However, there's no guarantee that an application will be approved.
