Question, can we send in our application forms while I am pending my medicals and background checks? We are in the US and the FBI processing times are 14-16 weeks. I noticed many individuals in these post had medicals and background checks done at a later time. In the guide they ask that these documents are sent off with the application.

We live 5 hours from the closest facility for our medicals and the earliest appointments are in January. Also do we have to have all of our vaccines to pass the medical? Our daughter had a vaccine reaction as a baby so we have chosen not to continue any further vaccines. Thank you in advance!

yes it is possible to submit your application without medical or fbi records. generally, they will be requested upon sponsorship approval within a certain amount of time. for the fbi record, it's best to submit for it NOW so that it's ready when it's requested. the applicant's application won't be approved until the medical is completed and the fbi record is submitted, so not submitting can cause delays.

no, i don't think it's required to have vaccinations for immigration purposes.

No one asked me about vaccines at mine, the US and Canadian vaccination schedules are nearly identical anyway. But I agree, waiting on them likely will cause delays. I'd send after they're done.

Thank you so much for your input, I am just concerned because the FBI clearance could take up to 18 weeks and we were really hoping to move by next fall for our kids to start school. This would essentially delay the process up to 4 months:-(

One more question, can we have our medical a done in canada even though we are applying outland and live in california? We are headed there on vacation next week and the prices are so much better!! The women I spoke to indicated that I needed a number? Not too sure what I need to take in terms of forms. Thank you in advance

Yes, you can do the medical in Canada. You don't need a number; tell them that you are doing an upfront medical for Family Class.
