Well Im a newbie n totally think I blew my interview :(

The officer came off very aggressive not friendly, she was like an attack dog (sorry I felt threatned)
I got so mad, i was shouting...
The issue is we have been married 6 years started the application in 2010, my husband got approved 8/2011. Received my letter from Kgn for interview. I couldnt get some dates right ( she made me feel like Im a liar) I was extremely nervous ( dont know why)
My husband had used an agency in 2007 that took all his money, AFTER he was on probation for 3 years FML. issues after issues. Im out of faith n think we just might have to leave well enough alone>>> Someone Please help or advise, flipping out. We have a genuine loving relationship that started online.. Will my app be denied? If so can we appeal?

Re: Mean officer in Kingston

One thing you NEVER want to do is lose your cool during the interview. If the interviewer is agressive, you need to be assertive, yet restrained. Not remembering a few dates shouldn't be a major issue, but you have to explain it in a logical sort of way....

When will you know the results of the interview?

She didnt say! I did lose my cool. The gap in coming to Jamaica was also an issue. She also thinks I didnt bring enough "evidence" when most were sent with application and I honestly dnt have a lot of emails cause we been talkn on phone mostly for 2 years n Skype. So all there were was phone records, cards, a few emails ( Ive lots< but thought it wasnt relevant to print all) my bad I guess. The letter stated I should bring :
1 Emails, cards, phone records, etc if available. So i brought a few of each (she wasnt satisfied(
2 My husband's Notice of assesment 2010 ( I brought that)
3 proof of finacial suport (he doesnt support but he sends occassionally) and these were submitted w app
4 Proof of visits since marriage ( he hasnt cause he was on probation and wasnt able to travel till last year)

The thing about evidence is you want to err on the side of too much, rather than too little. Regardless, the interview is past and you can only wait for the decision now. I suggest you and your husband have a good long discussion about the possible outcomes and how you plan to address them.

If you like, you can join us over at the Kingston, Jamaica thread and connect with others processing through that office. We've had a couple successful candidates pass their interviews recently in April. Another applicant (already landed) waited quite some time for the decision on his interview and was given time after the interview to submit additional documents and information, so don't despair.

Hey just wanted to say..don't give up! Even if the interview ends with ultimately bad news...the good news is their is always appeal processes. I know of a few couples who had nightmare experiences with immigration. In fact my best friend was telling me about a couple who had nothing but trouble and it took them something like two and a half years to get things finally sorted out. They just finally got approved last month and the husband is FINALLY a PR!! And they happy and settled here in Canada. Some of us get lucky and things go smooth..some of us don't. But as much as it sucks..its ultimatley a small period in the life long time you will have with each other. The important thing is not to give up..you will be extremly thankful when the day comes that you are together..and trust me...real love is worth the wait and the trial!! It takes longer to find real love that you can enter into a marriage with than it takes to wait out immigration issues in most cases...in my opinion..likely exceptions!! So find out your options...and if you have to appeal and it takes longer..just don't give up. And if you ever have to do another interview of any type..don't let them rile you and just be extra prepared. Just think to yourself..however this person interviewing me acts...this is what..maybe an hour of my life that I am gonna keep my cool..in exchange for a lifetime with my spouse. And you arn't ever going to see that interview officer again anyways!! There is plenty of attitude in the interview rooms on the Kingston side of things...but then I recently sent my husband back home for a brief visit..and coming back to Canada he was treated so shamefully...I'm surprised we didn't just pack our bags and head back to yaad!! So immigration juss stay that way on both sides sometimes...don't let it get to you.

Thanks all for your kind words and support. I dont have a computer at home so I dont always have the privy of a computer, anway, I received a letter 5/26/2012 and I was denied. But like you say theres always the appeal process, now we will use the services of an attorney. People dont stay married for 6 years in my opinion for convenience and thats basically what she said in so many words. I agree there's a few issues. But none that made her assume we dont have a genuine loving relationship. Di woman was jus a bitch. I understand the need to eliminate fake marriages, would she have rather I try buying a visa? Im lost for words we are so disappointed but the show will go on.

I like it, "the show will go on"...that's the spirit...never quit...never surrender...you will win the appeal.

If we have to attend an interview, and I forget some dates, I'll just chalk it up to being a man! Seriously, if that were to happen, I'd just explain it away...I'd try and flip the question back on the interviewer and ask how many times have you forgotten someones birthday or anniversary. It happens to all of us, so for the VO to make a big deal about a few dates is, in my view, absolutely ridiculous. Now, for dates that concern the sponsor and applicant, perhaps it is less likely that people would forget, so maybe that's where the VO is coming from, but still...

I also have to say that I think it was a MAJOR mistake to shout at the VO. You should never get aggressive with the VO or at any international border. You have to use diplomacy and always try your best to be as professional as you possibly can...if the VO was being a dick, you just have to take it and explain everything as best you can...we should remember that the VOs are still human, so if you shout at someone, do you think they will be more willing to help? Not likely...even though they have guidelines to work from, I'll never believe that personal feelings don't play a small role in all this...discretion...

Totally agree with you @ FS. I do believe everyone's human even when they dont appear to be lol. Well, I did loose my cool, but we are talkn with a lawyer now regarding the appeal, so thanks again. Its good to talk to people who have similar life experiences.
