I just went into the department's website and tapped on the link to my preferred Area of Research (Integrated Circuits and Systems - http://www.mcgill.ca/ece/research/integratedcircuits) and the list of professors with their emails are there. I messaged the two preferred supervisors that I declared in my application form and one responded. I just mentioned basic details about my self - where I'm from, my undergrad GPA, my current job, and how I would want to conduct research under their supervision. I also read their works (some published papers and books) and mentioned how my intended research is going to be along the same line.

I just saw your signature...congratulations for the acceptance from McGill. Can you please tell me what happened after your application went through In Review process ? My application, though it is for M.Sc. has the same status. I am very curious what will happen next ?

My application is still "In Review." It was an informal acceptance from my POI, saying he has recommended me for admission. I'm still waiting for the official letter of acceptance from the ECE department. I know someone who is applying for PhD at McGill ECE who has gotten his official letter of acceptance from the department last March 8 and his status in uApply is also still "In Review." The status at uApply willl only change once Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies reviews the recommendation from the department, approves it, and sends you the official letter of acceptance that you can use for CAQ and visa applications.

I expect to get the official letter from the department this week, or next. I hope sooner. I am anxious to see the funding details.
