Greetings all,
I am working under title 2282 for almost 8 month in Manitoba. Manitoba has a PNP program which required only 6 month work experience for applying, which means I can apply now.
But, personally I prefer to use CEC because I may or may not stay in Manitoba in the future, which means I cannot guarantee my residence.

However, from Nov 10 to Oct 31 2014, only 200 applications will be accepted for 2282, so there is a risk.
I am considering to use MBPNP as my backup plan, but I have the following questions:

1. I know I could apply to CIC for both, but is that true one person only can have one file number ?
2. If I applied at the same time and one of them decision made, will CIC required me to cancel the other one ?

In additional, can anyone give me your advice and suggestions ?
Appreciate to all !

- You can have multiple PR applications ( in different categories ) at the same time, correct.

2. If I applied at the same time and one of them decision made, will CIC required me to cancel the other one ?

- Yes, whenever one of your application is completed you will have to withdraw the other one.

In additional, can anyone give me your advice and suggestions ?
Appreciate to all !

See comments above.

Thank you iam_toby.

Will that be a trouble if you apply from PNP but later not actually live in that province ?
I know some people in my province actually gone but not sure if they will have trouble later.

Not sure about that, you'd have to look into your provinces PNP program and check the FAQs.

Which stream are you applying under? This will determine if it is 6 months or 1 year.

I wont be so sure about that ! No one from PNP programmes has received Citizenship. But if PNP is considered similar to Quebec PR , I have some friends who faced problems for their citizenship because they left Quebec (where they should have stayed according to their Immigration file). I guess PNP will be the same so when you obligate yourself to stay somewhere, you should provide later why you didnt stay there (in case you left the initial place) and it may or may not get accepted by the judge.
Again , it is based on what I have seen for Quebec cases and is not the solid law !

"No one from PNP programmes has received Citizenship" - is that your finding from the quebec cases?

I did the same, applied SINP, and also ll apply for CEC on Feb2014..

Once you get PR, you can move around ON, Alberta or SK..and then when applied for citizenship, you may have an interview where you can say got job offer changed my location..i think that is ok..

haha , of course not ! I was mentioning that since no one from PNP applicants has not applied and received citizenship yet (because PNP stream is new), this issue will remain just a guess from comparing these cases with quebec cases .
